Born in 1987 in Plymouth, UK.
Holly works between bustling London, rural Devon and west mid-Wales where she was the Centre for Alternative Technology's most recent artist in residence.
Using earth-bound materials such as beeswax, recycled paper and woolen yarn she challenges audiences to reconsider their relationship with the natural world. Her immersive, tactile pieces draw attention to issues of global warming, environment fragmentation and disconnected communities urging audiences to reconnect through shared ideals, interests and skills. Her works often have a temporal or cyclical element emphasizing sustainability, evolution and flux.
Holly holds a Masters in Art and Science from Central St Martins, London. She has worked and exhibited both nationally and internationally and has been an artist in residence at Buckfast Abbey honey farm, Plymouth University's AA2A programme and currently the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales.
Holly is one half a collaborative duo with artist Kristina Pulejkova. Together they are working on an on-going project entitled Switching Heads-sound mapping the (...) This series of multi-media projects explores climate change through the exchange of local community stories. Their latest project titled Switching Heads-sound mapping the Arctic took them, in Spring 2015, to the north Norwegian city of Tromsø and the surrounding area. Binaural sound technology, film and un-intrusive sculpture will capture stories from people living inside the Arctic Circle.
